Why I Started and Created a Blog: Bloom!

I started a blog because I love fashion, fitness, and motivation, but it goes a little deeper than that. Although those three things are my passion, they only play a small part behind why I started Bloom. I started Bloom to bring women together to encourage, empower, and uplift each other. In today’s society many women don’t come together to support each other. It’s very important to me that I create a community of women who can come together to celebrate, respect, and  help each other become our best selves to be passed onto the younger generation.

As women we go through emotional roller coasters, we battle with being/staying self –confident, embracing our flaws, and accepting ourselves for who we are. Enough bashing and tearing each other down, it’s time for us to claim our power and help each other win (in whatever that may be).

Growing up I didn’t get the support I needed from my mother or my two older sisters. It’s not because they didn’t want to give it to me, they just couldn’t at the time. My two older sisters were teen moms, which took a lot of my mother’s attention to help them with motherhood.  That left me with no real quality time with them.  Becoming an aunt at 8 years old has taught me a lot and made me grow up a lot faster than the average 8 year old. Although I didn’t get a lot of mother and daughter time growing up, I received a lot of advice and learned what not to do in my life.

At a young age I already knew what type of woman I wanted to be and how I wanted to be perceived to everyone. I knew this because I gravitated towards confident, classy, sophisticated women to be my mentors. The funny part about it all is that a lot of these women didn’t even know that they were my mentor or that I was picking their brain, so I could use the knowledge to help mold me to become my best self.

I couldn’t be more excited to have created Bloom and share tips and tricks that I have learned along the way and to continue to bring amazing women on the blog to share their knowledge and expertise to help contribute to our mental and physical growth.

Let’s continue to grow together!

I want to hear from you.
